Au Zoo
I finally got my gold pass to the zoo in the mail and could not wait to go! It was a lovely day too. I was almost too warm in my thrifted J.Crew sweater. I put my new camera to good use and finally got to use my HD mega zoom lens (you know, that is the technical name of it.) I got pictures that I never dreamed possible before. I saw the inside of the lion's mouth with this lens! It's so crazy what a nice camera can do for you. I got the camera, two lenses, a bag and SD card for about $1000. That's a lot of money but hey, it was my tax refund money. Money well spent! I should really get around to reading the instruction manual, and use it to it's full potential. Anyway, what I wore to the zoo:
I wore my thrifted J.Crew sweater, ruffled polka dot blouse, super duper old Gap boyfriend jeans, slouchy brown boots and toted my coral H & M cross body bag. Easy for a day of walking and being with kids.
Now for some gratuitous shots of animals!
Elephant.
Dueling Polar bears! Seriously, they were wrestling and having fun. It was awesome to watch.
This handsome guy.
He was SO tired.
Those white Tigers were sleepy too!
The Snow Leopard. It's my Husband's favorite animal. I did not get to see my favorite animal, the Okapi. Don't know what that is? Look them up, they are so totally cute.
This pretty lady just had a baby! But he was not on display. too bad :(

Ah so jealous! The zoo is like my favorite place on earth!! Here the zoo does this thing where every second tuesday of the month it's only $5 but I haven't able to go because I have classes on tuesdays :( haha You got some really great photos, that snow leopard is stunning!
Thanks! The zoo is one of my favorite places as well. I never realized how thick the Snow Leopard's fur was till they installed this new Big Cat viewing area. That pic was taken through a glass wall, but I think it still looks pretty good.
cuuuute! I'm glad you didn't go in an animal print :) Super cute polka dots and I love that lion yawning picture!

Ha I never even thought about how that would look, going to the zoo in an animal print! That Lion, he showed off for me. I think we're buddies now.
Thank you! I've already been back twice. The passes pay for themselves after 3 visits and we go typically once a month, so it was a good idea. Now we can go weekly if we want.
I WANT TO GO TO THE ZOO NOW! These pictures are so amazing! :) It looks like they all wanted to pose for you :) Also, love your bag and your hair in a braid!
They DID want to pose for me! It was like 60 degrees, so the animals were just enjoying the weather. Not too hot, not too cold. I hate in summer when it's so boiling that the animals go in their caves.
Oh my, those animals are so cute and sweet! I love going to the zoo hehe, and such a great outfit!! Loving the polka dots xo
Um that bag is amazing! I need a new cross body and now I want one just like that! :)
Thank you! It's still in stores at H & M. It also comes in Mint!
Thank you! I can't wait to go back. The Gorillas have a new baby named Gladys and i want to meet her!
super cute!

I'm trying to. One day I'll read the book so I can really use my camera. For now I just like experimenting!
Thank you!
LOVE your bag and those pictures are amazing!

Thanks Angela! I love this purse too! I wish I had gotten it in the mint!
What a fabulous sweater!! It looks so cozy. I'm sorry we are all still wearing our thick sweaters though. Come on spring!
Me too! It is cozy though. The best part was the price. It was $4.99 at Goodwill, but half off that day! So, $2.00. It's my favorite sweater!
Cute polka dot top! And cute animals!

Love your cozy sweater!
And do you mind me asking what kind of camera you got? I am considering upgrading and am working my way through all the options.
My Husband like Canon cameras, so we bought a Rebel EOS T3 bundle. Bundles are really great deals. You get a memory card, bag, camera and lenses. I got two lenses, a normal one and a HD mega zoom type one. I'm still learning it. I wanted something I could use on my own fairly easily when no one was available to take my pictures. It's very nice. One day I'll read the book and REALLY learn how to use it!
thanks Kacie! it's my favorite.
Thanks for the response - actually the T3 is the one I've been considering. I've looked at some bundles but I am kind of leaning towards getting just the camera body and a 50mm lens because that's the one I want. I agree with you about the books though - I never even bothered looking at the books for my other cams, but I never got a DSLR before.
I negotiated on the book thing. I had my mother read it since she takes almost all of my pictures. When she's done she's gonna explain it to me!
