Lost in Translation
I loved this outfit when I was walking around my apartment. I went to my Mom's and she was not impressed. Somehow, the loveliness of it was lost. I think it's the skirt. It's so big on me. I'm very short, 5'2", and the skirt overwhelms me I think. If I wear it on my hip, it hits almost to my ankles. If I pull it up a bit higher, it still hits just under my knees and it falls down all the time! Even with a belt to cinch it, it kept falling down. If I hem it to hit at the right spot, I'll lose the pretty stripes. I definitely will have to take it in. I was not happy pulling it up all day!
I was also completely covered up head-to-toe, with the boots coming up to my knee, the skirt hitting below the knee, and my long sleeve chambray shirt. It definitely had great bones, it just needs tweaked. This outfit may have a part 2 restyle.

Yeah. not my favprite either. next time maybe minus the boots?
I completely understand the tweaking of certain outfits. Mine usually involved placing some accessories on because I ran out the door without them. I really love the outfit! And I think what you said below... maybe some booties?! show a little bit of leg ;) :)
That skirt is fantastic, you look beautiful!

Thanks Kacie. I think with different shoes and a different top it would look better. It's only the second time I've worn it, last time was with a cream tank over the summer. Remix time!
nice!

thanks Angela1 I love it.
Exactly. Once it is take in so it sits a little higher on my waist and I'm not pulling it up all the time I will add it with different shoes and a wider belt. I think that will take it up a notch!
Thank you! It was on sale last spring at old navy. $3.50. Had to have, didn't realize it was so big!
Thanks so much! I love the colors in it.
Thank you for you comment!
This look is great! I've always loved tall boots under long skirts, the layering is always nice for this time of year.

I think I will hem it though.A little leg and it will work!
I'm thinking shirt open with your royal blue tank top or your pink sequin one underneath, and wider belt as another option. I think the outfit would look cute with kitten heeled shoes or wedges as another option in warmer weather. The skirt is fun and playful. I like the length. I bet you come up with several cute ways to rock it!
I haven't even thought about it with my sequin tank! I am definitely going to consider that for my restyle!
