Spring Green and my giveaway winner!

I have been super amazed at my local Goodwill lately! With the season shift to spring there's a vast array of light blazers, jackets, dresses and skirts! I picked up this new-with-tags Merona blazer, plus a bunch of skirts and dresses (many also new with tags!)
I paired it with a coral tank, flared jeans, glittery flats and my monogrammed Coach tote. I added this playful polka dot bangle and this beautiful amethyst wire-wrapped necklace from a local boutique.
If I were going to dress this up I'd switch out my flares for skinnies and add heels. I love the green with the coral. I've been seeing coral paired with mint a lot lately and thought this combination was just as pretty.

Do you like the Spring green and coral combo? What is your favorite Spring color?

Day Sparkles

The weather has warmed up again! Man, I feel like all I do is narrate the northern Kentucky weather for ya'll. But yes, it warmed up again so I dressed accordingly.
I chose my pink sequined t-shirt, a crocheted cream color vest, boyfriend jeans and nude platform wedges. I added layered mint necklaces and bangles and toted this leopard trimmed bag.

Yes. That's my sister's stroller behind me. Oops.

I LOVE these shoes. The nude straps are the same color as my skin!

What do you think? Are you loving the baby pink and mint together as much as I am?

Playing Dress Up AND My First Give Away!

So my niece, Andrea came over to spend the night and played dress up with my daughter. They raided London's prop box, my accessories, and London's closet and came up with (in my opinion) two winning looks!
London is wearing her own pink owl adorned nightgown, gold sequined ribbon as a belt, black bow accented kitten heel sandals, gold sequin bag, my black feathered fascinator, and my faux turquoise statement necklace. Andrea is wearing London's Tinkerbell costume and coordinating wings, her own skinnies, London's Cinderella kitten heel clear glitter pumps, my white fascinator, my leopard cross body bag, and my light blue statement necklace.
BFFS. Interesting fact. London (mine) is 10 days older than Andrea! My sister and I had them both together. They wouldn't let her in to see me at the hospital, they thought it would make her go into labor! They've been built-in best friends since they were born. And Andrea's Mommy, my sister, is one of my BFFS.

Drea.
Lou. (We call her London Lou and sometimes just Lou.)
AND something exciting for YOU, my readers.
What's that behind London's back?
It's a box! But what is inside the box you ask?
Earrings! Let's look a bit closer, shall we?
Yep! Hand-picked by London, bought by me, from a boutique in my neighborhood (Mainstrasse in Northern KY) called Eureka's, (sorry it doesn't have a website or anything) these lovely, hand-made tumbled jade earrings are for one of  YOU! A thank-you from me to you for coming to see me everyday and  leaving me lots of love. I love my blog and I love reading your blogs! like I said, I purchased these with my own money, they are not from a sponsor or anything. I was shopping there and bought a few things and let London pick out a pair of earrings to give away. To enter just use the rafflecopter below!

Updated

I found this polka dot button up skirt at Goodwill on half off day and thought it was just the skirt I need. Midi-length, fun print, basic color I can work with, plus the buttons! I could see this in it's 90s heyday worn to church or something but I had an update for it that would be a little more fun!

I paired it with this teal knit shirt, my denim jacket, open toe flats and my coral bag for a pop of color. I also added my multi-chain BR necklace from the Gap outlet.
Initially I had my shirt tucked in and added a brown braided belt BUT with my cropped jacket the overall effect made me look...stumpy. Un-tucking my shirt added a longer line to draw the eye down.

I rocked this look on a FREEZING cold day playing with my kids.

I like it. I even like it with the un-tucked top. I feel like I'm channeling my inner boho.

What do you think? Would you add or omit anything or is it just fine as is? I kind of love it. Oh, and it was SUPER comfy to boot!

The hair

So Rachel over at Rachel's Look Book dyed her hair. Actually, she got it highlighted. She looks FABULOUS!
Anyway, she got me thinking about all the colors I've had my hair. It's been quite a few!

These two pics are me with my natural hair color both short and long. It's RARELY that color so my Mom should be happy seeing them.

I've also tried dying it blond at home and this was the result for a while:

This was the first time I had it PROFESSIONALLY highlighted. She never got the right color. I had this brassy shade of blond for two years. I could have done it myself! (But I love the layers in the longer cut!)

I also get pink in my hair about once a year. It's usually in the layers on the underneath side of my hair, but I was working at the mall and did this to it:

Sometimes I go a very LONG time between root touch-ups, get frustrated and dye it brown. It NEVER looks good brown!

This is the first time I ever got the color blond I wanted, with a colorist who listens to what I ask for:

When I tried to color my roots and accidentally went platinum back in the fall:

And my current color which is my favorite:

What's your favorite color? Are you a natural blond or blond at heart, or maybe a fiery red head or feisty brunette? I'd love to know what the WILDEST color you ever dyed your hair was! (For the record my wildest hair colors were all over blue hair, and then I had blond hair with blue streaks and red tips.) Share in the comments!

10 things about me!

I've seen everyone doing these posts and thought I'd do one as well. I tried to mix fashion related with the silly and unexpected SO here ya go. My 10 things:

1. I started my first fashion blog in 2009 on my Facebook account. I'd write a note, tag my friends, and attach pics of what I was wearing. My Mom, my friend Jessica, and my sister were my readers. It was awful, but I do remember correctly predicting the trends for Spring 2010 (NAUTICAL...I still have anchor earrings from that.)

It's the Bright time!

I'm SO tired of black. I had to go to the grocery store after work the other day and was going to  just run in, but I was still in my work clothes. They make me sad. So I went home and quickly changed into this bright blazer and tee. I could then shop for my cereal without black-clothing induced sadness.

I wore this thrifted blazer, plain green tee,k jeans, leopard flats, and this thrifted bag. I also added a long necklace to elongate my torso so I look a wee bit taller because I was rocking flats.

I love the bright, happy colors, and the green and blue together remind me of the ocean. The power of happy thoughts prevail!
