I have started this blog as a curvy girl trying to make fashion work for me. I want to dress nicely and be in style, but not spend a lot of money. This blog is my take on fashion featuring thrifted finds, a lot of sale items, and fun. I'm a amateur fashionista in a community where the hottest thing around is to wear Ed Hardy tees and own a Coach bag. Not exactly a fashion mecca.

As a curvier and shorter gal size 12, I'm not your average style blogger. I am your average American woman in terms of size and weight. I have had two children, and they completely changed my body, and therefor the way I dress.  After I had my children I was a little bigger each time, and  I was ashamed of how I looked, which caused me to hide in unflattering clothes. I have come to love and appreciate myself a lot more since then! In learning to love my body I have turned to fashion to help me feel good about myself. I love clothes, and the right outfit can just make you look and feel amazing. Furthermore, full figured women need to think about and plan what they are going to wear, because not everything will look good on a bigger body. I have honed my fashion sense and can honestly say I dress a lot better now than I did back when I was skinny.

I also have a love for thrift stores and an affinity for finding the most awesome clothes for dirt cheap prices. My lovely children keep me on a tight ship, money-wise, and I often go to thrift stores, upscale consignment boutiques, flea markets, yard sales, even Facebook, to find items to supplement my wardrobe. You name it, I've shopped there, to find awesome deals that keep me in tip-top fashion form and still allow me to pay the bills. Some of my favorite pieces, like my snuggly Ralph Lauren sweater and my monogrammed Coach tote, are pre-owned and now have found a loving new home in my wardrobe. I don't buy everything at thrift stores (especially pants) but I try to save money when and where I can.

You won't see me in harem pants, overalls, or crop tops but you will see everyday style that you can easily replicate on the cheap. If that's what you like, then welcome, my friend, to The Stylized Wannabe!

Anything else that you'd like to know please contact me. I will answer every question the best that I can.
Thanks!
