The Only Eye Shadow You Need!
Awhile back we talked about me adding a beauty element to this blog. Well folks, today is that day! This is the first of many future beauty posts to come.
If you follow my Instagram you'll know I'm obsessed with make-up! I literally have an entire tower, taller than me, filled with beauty products. I own every major eye-shadow palette from the Naked ones from Urban Decay to Tarte to Too Faced to my favorite palette, the Lorac Pro, as well as cheapos like my Jacklyn Hill Favorites palette by Morphe and my custom Z-Palette filled with Make Up Geek shadows. While I'm no pro, I'm definitely an enthusiastic connoisseur! I've been comparing these for months, trying to figure out what works for what and which are the best.
My pick for most universally flattering shade is ...
AMBER RUSH from the infallible line by L'oreal!
Amber Rush is a rose gold/copper shade. It's lightly metallic and if you apply it in a swiping motion on your lid it will be shinier. It's very creamy and pigmented, and you don't even need a primer! It looks good on every eye color with every skin tone. Plus, it's like $8. Ulta usually has bogo 1/2 off on drug store brands, so you can try it out and pick up the chubby black kohl liner from the infallible line as well to use with the Amber Rush shadow for s sexy, smoky look!
My favorite way to wear it is to start with a vanilla color all over my lid with any brush, lash line to brow bone. I then take Make Up Geek's Frappe in my crease with a fluffy blending brush, using a heavy hand. I will also take Make Up Geek's Creme Brulee on the same fluffy brush and blend out the Frappe, for an all over warm crease color. I take Amber Rush and first use my ring finger to apply it in patting motions to pack on the color. Afterwards I will lightly sweep it in wind shield wiper motions to amp up the metallic look. I follow up with the chubby black L'Oreal Infallible Kohl pencil on my upper and lower inner rims, run Frappe on my lower lash line with a pencil brush, curl and mascara my lashes, and apply winged liner (usually either Physician's Formula 2 in 1 Eyebooster and Serum in Blackest Black OR Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner.) It all takes about 5 minutes. I wore this look to two different weddings recently, and it's my go to look whenever I want to look pretty but not over-the top!
What do you think of L'Oreal cosmetics? Will you give this shade a try?

Stunning! I love your Instagram makeup pics...I don't know how to do makeup at all, so it's fun to love vicariously!
I honestly feel more comfortable with make-up right now. I just love the way I can completely transform myself. I can have a smaller forehead, nose, higher cheek bones, I can even make my eyes reflect more blue or green or gray or enhance them to a sparkling cerulean. It's so much fun!
Ahh you look so pretty! I've never really used a lot of makeup, but you make it sound easy!
That's why I did this post. If you're going to get just one eye shadow, get this one! It looks great on everyone, seriously. I think this plus the Urban Decay Naked Basics 1 or 2, a liner and a mascara are all you need for your eyes. The small basics palette would give you a crease and highlight shade as well as two darker colors for when you want to go more glam or smoky. You can even change up the liner depending on your eye color to make them pop! I've used this with black, brown, purple and green liner and it looks great. Plus, I forgot to mention that this lasts all day. When it says 24 hour wear it means it!
I need to try this! That's such a pretty color. and you look gorgeous!

Thanks, Angela! You really should. The line is carried everywhere Ulta, CVS, Walmart, Walgreens, and so cheap. I like Ulta because i get the points and they usually have bogo 1/2 off!
what a pretty shade! looks beautiful!

It's so pretty and too cheap not to try!
I've never really tried L'Oreal eyeshadows, but I think I can trust your judgement ;)
This looks like it would be a pretty colour on many skin types, but I'd wonder how its quality compares.

Something About That
Good quality, especially for the price. It's very similar to Urban Decay's chopper, except it's a 24 hour shadow. It's a powder buggy feels very creamy.
This shade looks beautiful - AS DO YOU! Love love love this on you!
Aw you're so sweet Rach!
Looks like such a pretty color...you look gorgeous!
Now I want to try this eyeshadow. I love that last photo of you!
It really is! When ever I do someone else's make p it's the shadow I always use.
Thanks Becky! That was my best Friend's wedding from the end of March. I was the maid of honor, and did my own make up and hair. The bride and her daughter had their hair done exactly like mine, water fall braided and then curled in loose wavy curls, but they paid a stylist for the same result. My bank account and I were happy that I learned all my beauty tips through you tube!
That shadow looks so pretty! I normally wear colors similar to that so it is right up my alley! Gorgeous in that last photo, too!

Ash, you look beautiful in this last photo. I have noticed on instagram that you like beauty products, how wonderful that you decided to bring it to blog. I never have been fan of Loreal. Not sure why. But I will have a look in pharmacy. This eye shadow looks gorgeous.

I wasn't either till YouTube turned me on to it. I actually only like this shadow, the an older eye khol and the true match foundation. I hear their blur line is good though!
It seriously looks good on every eye and skin color. Plus, it is a 24 hour shadow! It wears SO well!
Wow! Do you look absolutely gorgeous! I would love to try out this makeup as I am huge fan of the smokey eye look! I am so jealous that you have so much makeup! I am now following you on instagram! :)
