Thrifting Unicorn + My 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target Bag
Back in August I came across some simple bronze heels at Goodwill. They had an elastic ankle strap and were from Old Navy. $12, kinda a lot for Goodwill shoes. Plus, My left foot always hurts so when I tried one on it just THROBBED. So, though I really wanted them, the pros out weighed the cons and I passed them up.
I couldn't stop thinking about those shoes! I'm sure that's happened to ya'll shopping, but thrifting is worse because you don't know if it will be there when you go back. I went back the NEXT DAY after thinking about them all night. They were gone.
I kept thinking about them.
Last week I made some great tips when I filled in for the valet at the hotel and I decided a trip to Goodwill was in order. Not only did I FINALLY find the perfect denim vest after looking for months, but guess what was back?
THE SHOES.
You have to understand. This does NOT happened. IDK if someone bought them and re-donated them or if they were just hidden, but I've been back to that Goodwill at least four times and never seen them.
They are MINE!
And I realize why they were donated. They are painful. I don't care. Shut up feet, YOLO and I needed these shoes!
So. I also got a 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target bag. Mine's a bit different than yours though. I saw all the other bloggers with their totes-you know the one with the zippers down the side? It was still there, but it was WAY HUGE. I'd stuff it full and break my bag. They were out of the mini cross-body totes, and then they had this one, last one left of it's kind. It's like a doctor's bag with one long zipper all the way across and a super long strap so you can pack it over your shoulder. It's still kind of big but the shape is awesome. My only complaint is that I wish it had two zips that met in the middle. When I need something I have to open the whole bag.
You can tell I love this ensemble, I took a million pics! If I remove the vest and add a cardigan or blazer, it becomes perfect for the office! If I switch out the heels for flat brown boots and my convertible back pack and a beanie, perfect for the apple orchard! Add a black leather jacket, black strappy sandals and a sparkly clutch and it's perfect for going out! Truly versatile, especially for a knit teal pencil skirt and a purple Hanes tee.
Vest: Levi's, thrifted via Goodwill
Tee-Shirt: Hanes, Walmart
Knit Pencil Skirt: Jessica Simpson, thrifted via Goodwill
Heels: Old Navy, thrifted via Goodwill
Necklace: Merona, thrifted via Goodwill
Bangle: Dots
Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target
*I just realized this is the 2nd pencil skirt/denim combo I've done recently. I think I have an obsession.

I love this whole outfit so much, that vest is truly perfect and looks amazing on you. Its always so sad when the beautiful shoes are painful but in some cases it's so worth it! I'm so so so jealous of your bag, I really wanted one but all the targets around here sold out so fast!
I love this vest and the bag! Truthfully I really debated getting it since everyone had one, that's why I got the Doctor's tote instead. A little different, just like me. I actually went a little nuts at Target since it was my first non-thrift, non-sale item shopping trip. I also bought a beanie, earrings, and a necklace. I still want the Phillip Lim leopard print skirt. The quality is so freaking good!
I love all of the colors that were incorporated into the outfit, especially in the necklaces. Cute!
You're soooo pretty....& how lucky you snagged a PL tote!!!!

You look STUNNING! The blue and green combination is just perfect and gorgeous colors on you!
Ahh congratulations on finding your shoes again! I did the same thing with a vest at Nordstroms rack. Couldn't stop thinking about, went back a week later and it was gone ;(. Does this mean it will be there if I go back this Saturday!? haha

Thanks Deb! It's all one necklace though :)
Thanks Rachel. I thought they were autumnal and complimented each other.
Hopefully! When I worked in retail customers would hide stuff in the racks hoping to keep it for a later date!
Thank you! I thought the colors complimented each other since they are both cool-toned.
Great idea on switching out the top for an office look!

Thank you! I miss working in an office without a strict dress code. I'd wear this all day everyday.
I think so too! I had shopping blues. The shoes and I were meant to be.
you look fabulous! and yes, if you find something you like while thrifting, but it asap. i'm happy you found the shoes again!!
I absolutely love this look! One of my faves from you! You look so amazing! I also love and want your bag!!!

Love that bag and this look on you! So cute!
Me too. The hurt but they're soooooo fly!
Thank you. It's comfortable as well.
I still want that other Phillip Lim for Target tote. I'm gonna check out ebay.
Thanks Lauren! I'm trying to take my two days off and use them as an excuse to dress up. I'm tired of looking dowdy.
You look beautiful! I adore your handbag and blue and green combined.

Thank you Rebecca! I love this bag! I kind of wish I had gotten the other one AND the leopard skirt as well. The quality is SO good.
Thank you! I was going for cooler tone autumn colors. Teal's my favorite fall hue!
Great outfit, love your style!
Great post :)

Oh the things we do for fashion. If everything we wore had to be comfy vs. look good, we'd all be in sweatsuits and sneaks!
Over the years while I have been reading millions of blogs I have come to a conclusion that in US thrift stores you cab find anything, and it always is so stylish! Sounds like heaven. :D

I love your outfit! The colours all look awesome together and I am loving your denim vest. Such a great find!
Also, I love the bag. I haven't seen this one as much as I've seen those other ones, and I think I like this one better.
I didn't get to Target when the collection launched, so I'm a bit bummed. I went to two locations this weekend and even though I scored a skirt, they basically laughed in my face when I asked if they had any bags left!!

So true!!
You pretty much can! That's why I love them.
Ours even took a bit to sell out here in Kentucky, it's not really a fashion mecca. I think they finally sold out three weeks after they started. I went when there were two bags left, mine and the satchel. I picked this one cause it's a little different. I went back the next day and the satchel was gone too!
You look really amazing in these photos. I love the combination of what you are wearing. I think that pencil skirt is so great. I really need to get myself a couple more pencil skirts. They are very much lacking in my closet and I am always admiring them on other girls.

I want more as well. I own this one, a red one, and a black one. I would like one trimmed in faux leather, maybe a tweed one, and a zillion more colorful ones!
Adorbs! Those shoes were obviously meant to be - and I LOVE that bag! My Target didn't have that one (I ended up with the giant tote). Love the blue and green!!
This is my favorite outfit of yours!!! i really love the denim vest with your skirt. My sister has the same bag as you and I really love it :)
xo,
Angela
I wanted the satchel too. I almost bought both, decided against it. I went back the next day adn of course it was no longer stocked! They're going for $100s of dollars on Ebay. It's like, if you are going to pay $288 for a Target Lim bag, just save and buy the legit bag.
I love how much stuff I can pack into it! It's so BIG. I searched high and low for this vest and finaly found it at the end of summer. Boo for my maxi dresses but yay for my fall wardrobe.
So jealous you got one of those bags!

Thank you! I love that tattoo as well. It's one of the only ones I can see everyday. The rest are on my back.
I waited 3 weeks, went, and there were too left. This one and the satchel. This one is more "me." I went back the next day and the satchel was gone :(
That bag is amazing! I've actually seen more bloggers with the tiny crossbody but I love that size!
Also, congrats on finding the shoes! They are adorable!
Thanks! They are more comfy now that I've broken them in. I'm very happy with them.
Seriously, everyone has this bag and I can't find it anywhere! I guess I should have gone to Target the day of-duh. Super fun outfit!
Totally loving your bag...and that vest is too cute!
Thank you! I went to Target 3 weeks later, but I don't live in a fashion obsessed area. There are tons of them on Amazon and Ebay, starting around $60 for the mini.
I love this bag! I just wish it had TWO Zippers that met in the middle.
Yay for finding the shoes! That's a crazy story!! The pain we go through to look cute!! And score on the bag!
I love this outfit so much! I love green and blue together and the denim just adds a little "oomph." You look so cute! And crazy about the heels! I wish you knew the story, like why someone would buy them and bring them back... Anyway, it worked out for you!
Such a cute outfit and I love your pick of the Phillip Lim bag! I can't agree more about telling the feet to shut-it! :)

Once my feet go numb I'm good. They just kill me up till that point!
LOL. I know. But I love these heels. They are worth the pain. They are classic.
Thank you Ashley! I am wondering if they went to another part of the store and someone found them and put them back? I found a great pair of pewter BCBG high heeled boots...well Actually, I found one. the woman said people take one with them to try on, etc. I'd totally have bought those boots as well!
No problem! I already was via the giveaway:) Thank you for stopping by!
You look amazing! Love this green skirt look with denim vest.

I thought it was really cute too. It toned down the corporate-ness of the pencil skirt.
Maybe! I hope so. Wouldn't that rock?
Looking good Ashleigh! Love the whole look! Also, I'm lovin' your Phillip Lim bag too!
Me too! It's so classy. I usually switch my bag out once a week but I just love it and how much it can hold!
That outfit came together nicely!
