Two ways to wear a LWD (Little White Dress)
I bet you missed me! Jk. I know I've been gone about 5 minutes from blogging but I can't help myself. I am sick but blogging makes me happy! Whilst recuperating I went thrifting with my Mother and came across a totally cute little white dress. It's floral lace with cap sleeves and an exposed zipper in the back. It was also a size medium. Two sizes smaller than I was as of May 1st 2013. However, I've been losing weight (because I'm sick) and a big rule in thrifting is try EVERYTHING on, so I did! And it fit! Mom asked what would I wear it with and I promptly answered: my cowboy boots!
When Shanna posted this back in the spring I had been wanting to recreate the look my own way. I love the look of a flirty little dress with cowboy boots but I didn't own anything that screamed "Pair this with your Laredos!" The instant I tried on this little white dress at Goodwill, I knew I had my outfit! Though it is not exactly the same, I took the elements that appealed to me and applied them to make an outfit that worked for me.
The inspiration:
A flirty little dress, cowboy boots, and a pretty necklace was all I needed to capture the look and feel I was going for!
I planned to wear my cowboy boots/flirty little dress outfit on my next day off and have a little photo shoot for the blog, but then this awesome outfit was in my bloglovin' feed:

A thrifted flirty white dress, thrifted jean jacket, and go-anywhere flats, from Rachel's Look Book. I had all of those elements in my closet as well! So a two ways to wear post hatched in my brain. I believe I even told Rachel I was going to recreate this!
My thrifted denim jacket, thrifted LWD, and easy flat sandals, along with mint bangles and a dainty necklace. Not a spot on copy cat, just using the bones of the outfit and then making it me.
So what do you think? Did I get my money's worth out of my $4.99 LWD? I think so. I can think of a few more ways to wear it too!
Dress: Thrifted/Goodwill Xhileration brand $4.99
Jean Jacket: Thrifted/Goodwill Calvin Klein $6.99

I actually like it with the cowboy boots!!!The jeans and flats is a nice look too....
I thought so. When I saw it I knew exactly how I would wear it and I think both looks turned out very "me" and look good to boot! (Get it? To boot?)
Such a pretty dress!! I love it with your cowboy boots!

Thanks Angela. I've never worn them on the blog. They are one of my items that aren't "blogworthy." You know, like sweat pants. I just never thought they fit the concept of fashionable. I live in KY. Most everyone has a pair of boots. I was happy to finally let mine have some spotlight!
I hope you're recovering well - you look fantastic in these pics! The entire outfit is awesome and you look great with bold red lips!
Thanks! I love the red but I honestly do not remember what color it was. I think its a berry Covergirl stain with a magenta gloss on top lol.
I hope you're feeling a little bit better! At the very least, I'm sure the thrill of scoring that great dress helped you feel better in the moment. Both of these looks are great, but then again, doesn't anything look super cute when it's paired with cowboy boots? ;)

I feel minutely better. I couldn't resist this dress! I am so happy I finally have a dress to wear with them!
You look AWESOME!!! Love it with both, but you know I am partial to the boots!! ;) Thanks so much for the shout out!! Hope you are feeling better, sweet girl!! HUGS!!
Thanks Shanna! I'm proud to have been able to Rick my boots successfully on my blog! Thanks for the inspiration!
I love this! It's so cool to see where you got the inspiration from and how you made both looks unique to you!
you definitely got your moneys worth!! i love both looks!
Thanks kacie! I have already worn this dress three times! I love it, even though its white. Most of the time white doesn't even make it into my wardrobe. I'm afraid to get it dirty!
Thanks guys!
So cute! I like both looks but I'm a little partial to the cowboy boots!
I am so jealous of your find! I really want a little white dress. You look so gorgeous!

Awww! Such a great dress! I am so honored you did this post! I love the cowboy boots look! Very cute and Shanna also nailed the look! And it also looks great with the jean jacket :) Whoot whoot for amazing thrift finds!
Me too! I was so happy I finally got to wear them on the blog. I feel like they were my dirty secret. Like ooo I love fashion but I also live in a rural state, of course I have cowboy boots! I think this was the perfect time to show them on the blog.
I was happy with it. I wish I had a pic of the back. The exposed zipper really makes me happy. It toughens up the look of the frilly little dress.
I knew as soon as i saw your post I wanted to copy it. I just wish I could copy your hair in it too. So pretty!
Awww thanks for the compliment! Honestly I just twisted one side back and secured it with a bobby pin the rest is my natural wavy, crazy hair ;) (and trust me you don't want to see the back of my hair lol!) I do what I can to keep it under control. I have been avoiding blog pictures in this 100 degree heat though, MY HAIR IS JUST A FRIZZY mess!
Beautiful Ash you look so gorgeous in that cute little dress and it's timeless. You already styled two fabulous looks.
I hope you know feel better. Get well!

Mine is a straight mess! I brush and and cacn't figure out why I have this bone-straight hair that gets all tangled and knotted. It makes no sense to me!
